STB, an association made up of Visit Denmark and Visit Norway, contacted ChinaSoft with the vision of developing a web portal, aimed at promoting tourism in Scandinavia to Chinese travelers. Taking into account our experience and expertise with the Chinese market, their choice of our web-bureau was natural as STB not only wanted to develop a website, but also sought for expert knowledge in e-marketing - and hereunder especially Social Engine Marketing (SEM) - in China.
Scandinavian Tourist Board (STB), an association of tourist boards in Denmark and Norway, hired ChinaSoft to launch a promotion website aimed at increasing Chinese tourism in Scandinavia.
We suggested to develop the website based on Drupal CMS (Content Management System), since Drupal is by far the most flexible back-end system on the market, meaning it provides the possibility of integrating all types of functionalities one might imagine, as well as making possible a tailored and unique design. We suggested to administer the web-hosting in China and to register for an ICP license, which is required of all webhosts in China. Furthermore, we suggested to handle both Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing, to make sure the portal was optimized to the Chinese e-market. Finally, we suggested to integrate the website with various Chinese social media, hereunder Youkou (Chinese Youtube) and Weiboa (Chinese Twitter).
The website is developed in a custom design, showcasing Scandinavia from its best sides whilst speaking directly to the Chinese cultural spirit. The style is a mixture of clearly drawn lines, as is typical for Nordic design, mixed with the spirit of the fairytales known from the magical universe of H.C. Andersen. The website is integrated with various Chinese Social Media, to make sure that Scandinavia is promoted widely across all key demographics in China. Moreover, we’ve made it so that all content is easily edited and administered by STB employees, and the website has furthermore been translated to both Chinese and English, making it accessible to a wider public.
SCANDINAVIA was planned and developed from scratch by ChinaSoft. The following methodologies were involved in developing this project over the course of 2 months.
